Ritual to Invoke Hadit Unto Nuit with Strange Drugs
Rite of the Speckled Orchid

  1. Let the Aspirant perform such ablutions of mind and body as will sanctify both to the Rite. Let her consider that the caress of the Serpent Hadit is sweet, but to Aspire to Him upon a path unsuited to her Course through the Heavens is to blaspheme His Name, and in the Name of His Bride of the Starry Abode. Let not, then, the Sacrament govern the Sacrificer.
  2. Let the Aspirant acquaint herself, therefore, with all Science of the chosen method of intoxication, let the Temple be arranged according to the needs it will evoke in the Aspirant, that her way may be easy.
  3. Let the Aspirant inscribe the Twenty-Second Verse of the Second Chapter of the Book of the Law upon her Talisman, and within her heart.
  4. Let the drug be prepared with utmost care, and portioned judiciously.
  5. The Consecration

The Aspirant holds the Cup of Poison to the Starry Sky, and intones:
               Mother of the Womb Eternal!
                          Matron of the Star Supernal,
The cord is torn, the Babe is born,
                          Heir unto the Dance Diurnal!

               Maiden of the Goddess Grove
                          All affection I betoken
               Rampant, I bound into Night
There to hear the Word Unspoken
               Nuit, bless this emblem of
                          All our sweet celestial Love!

  6. The Sacrifice

The Aspirant places the Cup upon the Altar.

               Onto this sacramental potion,
                          Sprinkle juices of devotion,
               Poison me, O poison me
                          With your Cup of Clarity!

               To my crass, unquiet brain,
                          Be this elixir Wolvesbane,
Swoon the senses, burn my blood
With droppings from the Lotus bud.
               So in Silence there distil
                          wayward whisperings of Will.
Subtler than mere mind can hear it
                          Close, press closer, gossamer Spirit!

               Poison me, O poison me,
                          With the Venom Verity!
               Come, Hemlocke, come Belladon
                          Adder, Rattlesnake! Upon
all that keeps me from my Bride,
I splash this Cup of fratricide!

               That these brief glimpsed epiphanies
                          May become daily litanies.
No scorpion can kiss as sweet!
                          One caress, thou Snake Hadit!

The Sacrifice is made and assimilated by the Aspirant.
